Heart Attack Health Awareness

The topic of heart attack health is a big issue these days because of the way that most people are abusing their bodies. Lack of exercise, poor diet, and unhealthy behaviors have led to what seems like an onslaught of people plagued with cardiovascular illnesses that often lead to heart attacks. It is not the sole responsibility of these individuals either, there is plenty of blame to go around; and their lack of heart attack health knowledge certainly requires some explanation.

We live in a society that is driven by consumer supported industries. These industries sell products, people buy these products and everyone is happy. Unfortunately prescription drugs and diet programs are also consumer supported industries; therefore the onus on these industries is not to get people better, but rather to get people to continue to use their product. If all of the people suddenly became thin then there would be no more diet industry; similarly if everyone with cardiovascular problems suddenly had unclogged arteries there would be no reason to sell cholesterol-lowering medication.

This is not to say that individuals bear no personal responsibility for the cardiovascular health, but it is worth mentioning that the information that they would need to maintain a healthy lifestyle is largely obfuscated by these consumer supported industries. Institutions like The People's Chemist provide grounded and accurate information about heart health and preventive maintenance. This type of information is essential in this day and age for people to have access to. It is unfettered, and unedited information not passed through the filter of the drug or diet industry, meaning that it is information designed to get and keep you healthy rather than keep you hooked on prescription drugs and diet programs. Indeed this type of independent information is the wave of the health-care future, especially as more patients seek out this type of resource.
